Elvis Presley 1956
Elvis Presley 1956 is an original hand painted replica of the debut album by Elvis released on RCA Victor in 1956. The album was hastily released upon the huge response to Elvis's growing fame and was made up of a collection of recordings from RCA Victor and Sun Studios etc.
The album cover has been the inspiration for many other albums, notably London Calling by The Clash, but also many others making it one of the iconic album sleeves.
Painted in August 2023.
Measurements
Painting - 24” x 24” (61cm x 61cm)
Frame - 31" x 31" (79cm x 79cm)
Original Painting
The painting has been given a level of distress to reflect the wear and tear the album would have picked up throughout its lifetime.
Hand painted in acrylic on canvas and wrapped around board to create a 3-dimensional replica of the album cover, complete with a just visible paper inner sleeve.
It is float mounted and framed in a high quality bespoke made box frame with anti-reflection UV protected glass, and delivered ready for hanging.
Mark only paints an album once, so this painting is unique and will not be painted again.
The work is signed and stamped with the artist’s stamp, and provided with a certificate of authenticity as the original piece of art.
Delivery - The cost of delivery is included in the price (United Kingdom only). International customers please get in contact to discuss delivery options prior to purchase. Unfortunately due to General Product Safety Regulations, I am unable to sell my art to EU countries or Northern Ireland.
