Ronnie Scott's Jazz Club

Urban nocturnal landscape painting of the renowned London Jazz club, Ronnie Scott's.

Saxophone player and band leader Ronnie Scott first opened his jazz club in Soho in the late 50s before moving to its current location in Frith Street, London, W1 in 1965.

Being a Jazz fan and having enjoyed numerous nights at Ronnie’s, it was inevitable that Mark would paint the great club as part of his collection of London paintings. Painted with a nod to the style of Edward Hooper, Mark has omitted putting any people in the painting and captured an ambiguous Hopper'esque light.

Oil on canvas board - 16” × 12”

Signed, and stamped on the rear of the canvas with the artist’s stamp and provided with a certificate of authenticity as the original piece of art.

The painting is framed in a bespoke float mounted black frame.

Painted June 2023.
