Eros Movieland

Contemporary urban landscape of the shopfront to Eros Movieland, a Soho basement XXX shop seemingly stuck in a time warp from the 1970s.

The painting captures the run down nature of the building. Cracked and flaking plaster, dirty net curtains in the flats above, and electrical wires hanging loose over the doorway entrance. The fact that the shop has the open door to a ‘walk-up’ nextdoor enhances its sleaze credentials.

Oil on stretched canvas - 18” × 16”

The painting is signed on the front and stamped on the rear of the canvas with the artist’s stamp and provided with a certificate of authenticity as the original piece of art.
